Here is something lighthearted to start, which is basically the complete opposite of my intentions for these posts but I guess it highlights the importance of balance:
I’ve been thinking about little things that can bring joy to the everyday, especially as we enter a new year. What can I look forward to? Where can I bring more joy into my life? Last week as I sat on the hospital shuttle after my shift, I took off my ID badge and realized here was a potential moment for just this. I’ve always used the hospital issued badge reel, mostly out of convenience, but how many times a shift do I use my badge to scan a medication, badge into a door, log on the computer? Too often to count. Why not make these small actions an opportunity for delight or beauty or silliness or fun? So I started looking at new badge reels online.
